What is the driving distance of an electric car? An electric car is not limited and is quickly catching up to gasoline engines. The average distance on cars today is about 300 miles on a full tank of gasoline. Most electric cars start at about 50 miles on a full charge but if you allow for a larger budget our cars are designed to run over 200 miles per charge.

How much does it cost to charge up my electric vehicle? An electric car will show up on your electric bill and costs between $1.25 and $3.00 per charge. Each charge averages 50-200 miles depending on the batteries. So if the electric car ran on gasoline the equivalent cost in gasoline would be about $0.01 to $0.02 pennies per gallon of gasoline. Electric is a very efficient vehicle and even though we are using electricity to charge the car it still produces far less pollution than any gasoline or hybrid engine and you always have the option of charging free using solar power.
How do I charge my electric car? Do you have a cell phone? You charge an electric car the same way you charge your cell phone. Electric cars can also be charged at your friends house or anywhere there is a regular 120 volt outlet. For faster charging rates we will equip your home with a special charging device.
How can it be completely free to run my electric vehicle, is this really possible? Yes it is. Many customers want to be completely independent and not rely on fossil fuels to charge their cars. We can charge your vehicle with several alternative forms of energy which will completely eliminate a bill from your electric company.
If their is a problem with my vehicle where do I go? We offer complete service plans with any of our electric vehicles. Most electric vehicles do not need much service and can run many miles without maintenance like gasoline engines require. In fact maintenance costs are so little an electric vehicle will save you thousands a year. The service plan is designed to make our customers feel comfortable when buying an electric vehicle.
Conversion vs. buying a new car what is the difference? The price of a new electric car is very expensive. You are paying for engineering new body styles and corporate advertising costs. Conversion vehicles are one third of the cost of a new electric vehicle, give you the ability to customize your vehicle and are easily expandable to allow faster charge rates and a longer driving ranges. When customizing your conversion car you can choose performance, driving range and several other features which are not available in new electric cars.
What is the difference between AC and DC motors? Depending on your budget their are many advantages to an AC motor which include the ability to program the motor, smoother driving, longer lasting and smaller wire sizing. Although almost double the cost of DC motor systems, AC motors are beginning to be the motor of choice.
Why are large car manufacturers unable to produce successful electric vehicles? Its simple. They simply don't have the experience that Helios Electric Motors has. The electric vehicle industry is small and no one is a big player. This includes GM and many other larger car manufacturers. Producing dependable electric vehicles takes a dedicated team with extensive knowledge on electric vehicle design and maintenance. It also takes time to iron out solid builds and reliable technology. Large manufacturers are caught up in politics and outdated assembly lines. Quality control and quality engineering is no longer a priority.
Where are your cars and parts manufactured? Our vehicles are assembled in the USA. Vehicle parts are designed and manufactured in the USA and our support and design team reside here in the USA. It is rare that we use foreign parts mainly because of poor design quality and short life spans. Our vehicles are built to last so quality will always come before a cheap price.
Why a custom shop, why so much custom work? In ICE otherwise known as an internal combustion engine or gasoline engine we drive today does not have nearly as many options as an electric vehicle. Its just too difficult to mass produce an electric vehicle and meet every ones needs. Your electric vehicle can come with different performance options, range capabilities, road handling, several different types of motors and hundreds of vehicle styles. Custom work gives you a better overall built vehicle that will last longer than any ICE you have ever driven. Custom work involves better parts, higher quality engineering and a reliable well trained maintenance team.
Custom built vehicles also allow for quick and easy upgrades as EV technology advances. Custom also allows you to build the car you want and order the options you have always been looking for in a vehicle. Cars can be built using both a shell or donor car or even a brand new vehicle. Keep in mind using a donor car is recycling cars that otherwise may have ended up in the junk yard. The next time you are at a car dealer try asking for a special function or feature you would like in your new vehicle. They will change the subject and sell you a car that probably does not fit your needs.
Do you build performance vehicles or sports cars? Yes. We build both commuter vehicles and performance vehicles. Our performance vehicles are designed for racing and very fast acceleration. Sport model body styles will be more elaborate and unique and perform much more efficiently than internal combustion engines. All our vehicles have max speeds of 80-100MPH and cruise along at 65MPH without a problem.
